High School Students from Joplin Visit Mosque and Experience Ramadan in St. Louis

St. Louis, Missouri — On Tuesday, our community center had the pleasure of welcoming a group of high school students from Joplin, Missouri, as part of their visit to St. Louis. The students spent time at our mosque from the afternoon (Asr prayer) through the evening Taraweeh prayer.

During their visit, the students attended an educational session on Islam led by our imam, Eldar Efendi. The session introduced them to the fundamentals of the Islamic faith, as well as the mission, programs, and daily activities of our center.

Learning Through Experience

A particularly meaningful aspect of the visit was the opportunity for students to observe and participate in daily religious practices, including congregational prayers, Qur’an recitation (muqabala), and the communal iftar meal.

This allowed them not only to learn about Islam, but to experience it through real-life practice and the welcoming atmosphere of our community.

A Tradition of Openness

The visit served as a valuable opportunity for cultural exchange and understanding, giving students a firsthand look at how Muslims observe Ramadan and engage in community life.

This is one of many visits our center regularly hosts, including school groups and visitors from various faith communities across St. Louis and the State of Missouri.

Our center has always been a place of open doors, collaboration, and meaningful connections, and we remain committed to continuing this tradition in the future.
